Aluminum Indium
Chemical Formula | Available Form | Description of the Product |
In – 5%, Al- balance | Piglet, Ingot, Waffle plate | Small amounts (0.05 to 0.2%) of indium have a marked influence on the age hardening of aluminum-copper alloys, particularly at low copper contents (2 to 3% Cu). It is mostly used in superconductor and high performance magnetic materials. It is found that Al-In alloy electrodes exhibit exceptionally active anodic dissolution behavior in 1M of AlCl3 solution in anhydrous acetonitrile. The Indium components interfaces with passivation of Aluminum during its anodic dissolution and thus promotes an active condition on the metal surface leading to relatively high anodic dissolution current densities at substantially negative electrode potential. |
